A'hem...
Telling the story has always been my goal. I may just be a regular 'ol gal from the midwest, but I do love a good story! Through a story we know something new, we grow, we see truth. My work is to be true and fascinating and inspiring.
I fell in love with photography while living New York City - way back in 2004 - and the images I was able to capture during that chapter of life continue to inspire me. I was transformed by the energy and the creativity. And I learned to look beyond myself in my search for truth.
I, also, have been incredibly blessed to have a family who supports and encourages me. I may not always (or often) seem to make logical decisions. And I tend to be somewhat unconventional. But my family is always there to remind me to love and that even the strangest things can be used for good.
On March 15, 2007, I started working professionally, focusing primarily on weddings and editorial photography. Since then I have continued to focus mostly on weddings, but also have had the opportunity to photograph many families, children, musicians, and even a few furry friends.
What a journey it has been and I continue to seek ways to grow and expand my portfolio...driven by love, carried by hope and inspired by God. It has been awkward at times and definitely a struggle here and there, but I have come to be grateful for it all. After all, if there was no challenge, there would be no change.
Every picture is a perspective. My hope and my goal, in any photograph that I take, is to represent an honest perspective. Truth has a way of finding us. And that is beautiful.
